Use your ALTA certificate to earn your NATIONAL certification status.

What’s the difference between ALTA’s certificate of qualification and national certification? Think of ALTA’s 40-hour training as a level 1 credential. It’s your first step to work as a professional. ALTA’s certificate will qualify you to work nationally, but we always encourage our students to go even further with education. National certification is like a level 2 credential for interpreters.

National exams are administered by CCHI and NBCMI, and to apply, candidates must submit a certificate from a reputable 40-hour course. ALTA Language Services course fills that requirement. No matter what, our interpreter training is a step in the right direction.
