Russian: Self-Directed Interpretation Practice

Description: This program consists of 6 recorded roleplays, corresponding translated rubrics, and instructions on how to use them for self-directed practice. Interpreters record themselves interpreting a roleplay, then grade their performance using the corresponding rubric to find areas of strength and weakness in their skills.

Learning Objectives:

1. Empower interpreters to practice interpreting in a self-guided manner.
2. Increase interpreters’ awareness of their particular strengths and weaknesses, especially in accurately and quickly converting the message.
3. Provide a model for self-monitoring and self-reflection in interpreting outside of the interpreted encounter.
