The Anatomy of Profanity


We learn in interpreter training to accurately represent what is said in an encounter, no matter what. We know that when a patient uses ugly language, we should interpret using that same language. But what actually happens when we encounter profanity in a professional setting? On May 10th, we’ll dive into why patients use groserías and discuss strategies for interpreting profanity with accuracy and professionalism.
